Was really impressed with our Human Resources department here at EIU with this project. They came to us and wanted to get their application for employment online! Usually it seems like we are the ones telling everyone else to get with the times and get their stuff online – so it was a nice change of pace.
This system not only allows people to apply for employment at the university – but the backend system then tracks all those applications and the HR department can then monitor and process applications, schedule exams and post exam results and keep a ranking of those results.
The system has saved the HR dept. countless hours – especially as they have experienced an increase in applications.
Responsibilities
- Meeting with HR and determine their needs and project scope
- Migrate all data from old system (in Microsoft Access)
- Code and design the application
- Maintain and support the application
